Warren Tamkin, Retired Pastor, Dies

Warren Tamkin, 1925-2018

Warren E. Tamkin of Dillsburg, Pa., entered into the presence of the Lord on October 22, 2018. Born November 6, 1925, in McKee’s Rocks, Pa., he was the son of Alf and Myrtle Coverstone Ramsey and the adopted son of Elmer Tamkin and Beulah Coverstone Tamkin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty V. Tamkin and his brothers – Fulton, Allan, and Wallace Ramsey. Warren is survived by his wife, Lois B. Tamkin and the following offspring: Deborah V. Barr, Plano, Tex.; Ronald W. Tamkin, Pataskala, Ohio; Dawn E. Sarver, Portis, Kan.; Mollie L. Schafer, Ephrata, Pa.; and step-children Charlotte E. Traub,  Dillsburg, Pa.; Timothy H. Pryor, Dillsburg, Pa.; and James. R. Pryor, Mechanicsburg, Pa.; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was a  graduate  of American University, Washington, D.C. and Grace Theological Seminary, Winona Lake, Ind. He served as pastor in the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches (Charis Fellowship) for more than 58 years.

A Service of Remembrance will be held  Sunday, November 18 at Hope Grace Brethren Church, 110 Old York Road, Dillsburg, Pa., at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hope Grace Brethren Church, P.O. Box 275, Dillsburg, PA 17019 or Celtic Hospice, 900 Century Drive, Suite 201, Mechancisburg, PA 17055.
